Well, I didn't get the job, she said it was because I didn't have enough experience. Now, let me ask you this.. How the hell are you supposed to get experience when no one will hire you, BECAUSE you don't have experience?!
So, needless to say, I feel like a fucking failure. I feel like the whole year I was in school, being emotionally abused by my teacher has been for nothing. Now I'm $20,000 in the hole. I'm pretty upset right now.
If anyone local reads this, if you know of anyone who is willing to hire someone that doesn't have much experience or needs their haircut please let me know. =(

Have you tried applying at first choice, or the hair place in zellers? may not be glamorous, but it does give you more experience to get a job at a better salon? or apply places for a jr hairstylist? ive heard that bigger salons do hire jr styleist if ur new to the scene...
The place I didn't get the job was Magicuts. Which is the salon in Zellers. Kinda makes me feel like a tool not having enough experience to work there, like... It's low end and I can't even get a job there. :S. I just feel like I wasted so much time, money and effort, not to mention I had to put up with the instructor calling me stupid everyday when I'd ask questions about color.
I'm just going to try my luck and put resumes in everywhere. Hopefully I can get a break, or someone feels nice enough to give me a chance. I do really good cuts, I have clients outside of a work area, but they arent enough to bring in any kind of income.
Don't feel down in the dumps! I mean, I would rather someone ask to confirm if they weren't 100% sure on something that involved my hair getting colored!
Even though you went to school for much more, maybe you should apply for a salon receiptionist, or something? cause at least that why your in a salon and have your foot in the door? Not sure what else =S

Yeah, anything in a salon would be great! Even if all I did was sweep up hair! I'm willing to start at rock bottom! I'm not giving up yet!! I want to do something I love for the rest of my life and this is it!!
